The Belly Foundation

Belly was a wonderful girl who lived with osteosarcoma, bone cancer, her last year of life. She was diagnosed with terminal cancer just after her 6th birthday and her owner did everything she could to delay progression of the disease and make her as comfortable as possible. Her affected limb was amputated and chemotherapy protocols were selected to help her achieve quality life despite her 4-6 week prognosis. She survived comfortably, running in the backyard, chasing lizards, wrestling other companions in the house and loving life for a full YEAR after her diagnosis. Even on the day she left this world, she enjoyed company and some of her favorite snacks.

The Belly Foundation is in honor of Belly - initiated through Pawz To Care to help owners bridge the gap in costs of animal care and provide better quality of life through medicine. It is there to help prolong the human animal bond that exists despite financial strife. If you would like to donate to the Belly Foundation to help animals and owners in need, please see the link below to donate to Pawz To Care through the Veterinary Care Foundation.
